Things Apart

“Things Apart” shows a reaction on the exchangeability of social housing.
We transported our (student) living room in Groningen to an identical kind of house Utrecht in the same neighbourhood with the same street names. We left the room empty except for our own ceiling lamps and carpet. By printing our interior on computer prints and fitting it on to the walls of the space in Utrecht it emphasizes the tension and differences between both spaces.

"Things Apart" is een reactie op de inwisselbaarheid van sociale woningbouw op uitnodiging van Expodium.
We hadden onze gezamenlijke woonkamer in Groningen verplaatst naar een identiek soort woning in Utrecht, in een identiek soort wijk met dezelfde straatnamen. De ruimte is leeg op de meegebrachte tapijttegels en plafondlampen na. Door het interieur op behang te laten drukken en hiermee de ruimte in Utrecht te behangen werd de frictie tussen beide ruimtes zichtbaar.
